In preparing the expansion of The Friends of Holliston Trails group, we prepared some rough job descriptions dealing with many of the projects that the group will be dealing with.  Are you a good fit for any of these??

Vice President of FHT

 Board member of FHT willing to oversee several committees

  • Attend periodic FHT meetings to help coordinate volunteers
  • Work with President and Clerk to grow FHT community
  • Participate in FHT activities
  • Make decisions on fund raising activities for FHT

Photographers

Member with quality camera to provide the FHT with photos for every need

  • Memorialize the beauty of the trails in different seasons
  • Provide appropriate photos in correct formats to other committees of FHT
  • Walk the trails often to capture candids of people & activities
  • Attend trail events such as Cleanups, Concerts, and Construction for capturing photos to pass along to Promotion Committee

State & Federal Funding Lead

 Learn about State & Federal programs available to Rail Trails

  • Research the programs that other communities use for funding
  • Become versed in Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO)
  • Familiarize FHT with Mass DOT, PARC Federal Grants, DCR Rec Trails
  • Communicate findings to FHT meetings to implement applications
  • Draft necessary Support Statements to programs requiring updates on progress to strengthen approvals
  • Attend periodic local meetings to promote Holliston Trails needs

Promotion/Publicity Committee

Point committee responsible for messaging of FHT organization

  • All FHT committees turn to this committee to share news to the public
  • Prompt activities needed for time sensitive material
  • Create contacts list for local promotion of newspaper, radio, & websites
  • Update FHT website with blog posts of photos, activities, news
  • Create social media strategy for FHT
  • Announcing of FHT events and important news
  • Point person available for interviews and responses to public comment

Membership Committee

Responsible for growing membership of FHT

  • All FHT committees turn to this committee to share news to the public
  • Prompt activities needed for time sensitive material
  • Create contacts list for local promotion of newspaper, radio, & websites
  • Update FHT website with blog posts of photos, activities, news
  • Create social media strategy for FHT
  • Announcing of FHT events and important news
  • Point person available for interviews and responses to public comment

Corporate Sponsorship Leader

 Management of Corporate Sponsorships

  • Introduction of “levels” of sponsorships
  • Guide for corporate contact as to how to participate
  • Liaison with designer to provide website logo
  • Explain Bench/Brick/Signage sponsorship opportunities
  • Periodically follow up to report on Corporate marketing exposure
  • Cross sell event sponsorship
  • Coordinate with FHT members to enact corporate sponsorship features

Idea Research Lead

 Investigate opportunities for our Rail Trail by copying other Communities

  • Research rail trails in other communities to gather ideas
  • Meet with other community rail trail leaders to get feedback on programs
  • Communicate costs and process to FHT meetings
  • Work with FHT volunteers to implement approved programs

Fundraising Committee

 Establish a committee and Leader coordinating Fundraising activities for FHT

  • Brainstorm for events to be used as fundraising for FHT
  • Plan and Implement events periodically
  • Participate in FHT fundraising activities
  • Research other community fundraising activities for use by FHT

Trail Cleanup Committee

 Activities surrounding periodic trail cleanups

  • Schedule FHT cleanup events
  • Market trail cleanup events to improve community involvement
  • Coordinate with the Trails Committee to fill additional needs on the trails
  • Communicate with Promotion and Publicity members regarding events
