8th Annual First Night Trail Walk
Join Friends of Holliston Trails for our 8th Annual First Night Trail Walk!
Chat with neighbors, enjoy the warmth of fire pits, snack on S’mores and hot dogs, and sip hot chocolate along the trail. Phipps Tunnel will be lit with lanterns, Cross Street will toast with bubbles, and we’ll be grooving to some dance-worthy tunes in Blair Square. This is a fun family event for all ages!
Here’s a sneak peek at what we have in store this year:
– The Unlikely Strummers will be live along the trail. This local, community group of musicians is part of the emerging ukulele trend right now. Their earnings go back into the purchase of ukuleles for public libraries and other organizations. We’re delighted to welcome them back to Holliston!
– Cryptic FireCat will dazzle walkers with an LED juggling act along the trail.
This is a FREE community event, though donations are welcome. All funds raised will go toward safety improvements for the trail.
Date: Friday, December 31, 2021
Time: 5:00-8:00 PM
Location: Begin your walk from either Blair Square (Corner of Railroad St. and Central St. | 1 mile walk to Phipps Tunnel) or Cross Street (Behind Phillips 66 on Rt. 16 | 0.25 mile walk to Phipps Tunnel)
If you are interested in volunteering as a fire pit host, sign up here.
Parking information: There is a parking lot at the Cross St start and there are several options for downtown parking (with auxiliary police to help direct traffic and pedestrians) for the Blair Sq. start. Downtown options include RAMS Middle School, a small lot at Blair Sq, on-street parking, public lot on Exchange St, and another lot up on Washington St. (the entrance is in between 763 and 757 Washington St). Please note that several businesses close to the trail will be OPEN for business during the event (Depot Package Store, Casey’s, etc.) and we ask that you not park in their lots so their customers have easy access to the businesses.
